Timing belt is an important part that is critical for proper engine operation. The task of the belt is to drive valve control and timing mechanisms (which is the reason for the "timing belt" name) and synchronize rotation of the crankshaft and camshaft or camshafts. With the help of auxiliary rollers and belt tensioners the belt also provides power transmission to other components of engine. The correct tension and uniform motion of the belt is the key to correct operation of all engine systems and an instrument of engine vibration reduction.
