Comp Cams offers acomplete line of valve stemseals, a must to keepunwanted oil from enteringthe combustion chamberthrough the clearance in thevalve guides. The O-ringseals use the standardretainer and oil splashshield. The umbrella seal isnormally used when a largerthan stock diameter spring isused, and in the case of adouble spring, the positivetop Teflon seal is used.Smaller diameter Viton sealsare also available for triplespring applications. Both theO-ring and the umbrella sealsrequire no machining , butwith the Teflon seal it isnecessary to disassemble theheads and machine the top ofthe guide with a specialcutter.
