The perfect choice forhigh performance application.These 4340 cranks arecomparably priced with othercranks of lesser strength.These cranks start as forged4340 steel non-twist forgingsthat undergo a multi-stageheat treat process andx-rayed, magnafluxed andsonic tested to ensure yourcrank is free of cracks, airpockets and any imperfectionsthat could occur during theforging process. They arestress relieved and shotpeened for durability andlongevity. During themachining process, the crankis indexed for correct strokeand all of the rod & mainjournals receive a .125"radius in the corners forincreased strength. Thejournals are then precisionground & micro-polishedto an R.A. of less than 5 andNitrided for superior wearresistance. All of the oilingholes are cross drilled &chamfered for improved oilingto the rods and mains.Counterweights are designedfor easy balancing and do notrequire any machining forblock clearance. Each "ESP"crankshaft is inspected fordimension, size and strokeaccuracy so you know it iscapable of going from the boxto your block withoutworries. Eagle alsoguarantees a target bobweight+/-2% that reduces balancingtime.
