Voodoo Connecting Rods by Lunati are H-beam rods manufactured from 4340 forgings, heat treated, stress-relieved, shot-peened and magnafluxed to ensure the highest level of quality. 4340 Forged steel is extremely strong, often used in commercial and military aircraft, as well as automotive racing applications. It also retains excellent fatigue strength so you can rest assured that your connecting rods are constructed from one of the strongest materials available. Voodoo Rods are all strength and quality tested through a variety of processes that include stress-relieving, shot-peening and magnafluxing. Stress relieving heats metals to a certain temperature and then allows them to cool in still air. This helps with the removal of negative residual stresses from the metal. Shot peening is a process by which small metallic particles are used to impact the surface of the material being used in a part's construction. It creates compressive residual stresses on that surface, which can then longer withstand the stresses applied to the rod. The lifespan of the part is thereby increased. Finally, magnafluxing, also known as magnetic particle testing, runs a magnetic particle filled fluid over and through metal parts. The magnetic particles attach to any flaws or fissures in the material and magnifies them so that it can be identified and removed from use if necessary. All Voodoo Rods are weight matched to 1 gram and utilize ARP 2000 7/16 rod bolts. They are available for Chevy Small and Big Block, LS and Ford Small Block applications.
