Stromberg Progressive 3X2 4-7/8" Linkage Kit Suit Offy Tri Pwr Edel X
A high quality 3x2progressive carburettorlinkage designed for greatlooks and a positive actionUse with intake manifoldsthat put each carburettor4-7/8 inches apart. See abovefor typical manifoldapplications. Note: Intakeshown in photos is forreference only.
Designed and manufacturedexclusively by Strombergcarburettor, the TwoSteplinkage range combines clean, traditional looks withmaximum leverage and hugeversatility. Each kit comespre-assembled and installs injust two simple steps, without the need for extendedthrottle shafts. Our kits arenot a 'one size fits all'solution. Different intakesuse different carb spacing,so we modelled every kit in3D CAD and offer differentkits for specific intakes. Ifyou're in doubt, simplymeasure your manifold spacing- throttle shaft to throttleshaft.
Checkout the following features:
- 4-7/8inches from carb to carb
- Extended throttle shaftsnot required
- FitsOffenhauser 3x2 intakes forearly overhead valve engines, like Ford Y-block and '49-'61Cadillac, but check carbspacing before ordering
- Use two of these kitswith 9261-BB Back-bar for 6x2Edelbrock X1 Ram intake
- To use with banjofittings, add 9086K spacers
- For a chrome directlinkage at this spacing, order 9246S and shorten therod by 1-1/4 inches.
- Progressive kits haveopposite threaded rod endsfor easy adjustment. Justspin the rod to adjust forthe correct lever angles.
- Extended throttle shaftsare not required.
- Die-cast zinc SuperLink leverarms. All other partsstainless steel - even therod ends and lock nuts.
- Every kit comes with twonew Stromberg 'Snapback'throttle return springs, which wrap around the end ofthe throttle shaft. Thesechemically blacked, stainlesssteel torsion springs snapthe carburettors shut, yetvirtuallydisappear from view.
- TwoStep progressivesystems are designed toensure optimum performanceand ensure maximumversatility. The primarylever has three mountingpoints to change when thesecondary carburettors open, and you can pull the frontcarburettor or push the rearone open to suit individualapplications. On the topsetting (as supplied), thelinkage will start to openthe secondary (end)carburettors at around 50%primary (center) carburettorthrottle rotation. Lowerholes will open thesecondaries sooner.
- To improve leverage, theprimary (center) arm was keptas long as possible withouthitting the carburettorS-jet. It also has a biggerclamping screw to handle morelinkage torque. The slidingprogressive rod meets thesecondary carb rod at the topof the lever arm - not partway down like some systems.Good leverage is especiallyimportant as 97 multi-carbsystems have strong springresistance.
- Specialswivels and bolts weredeveloped to clamp the rodends tight, yet stillallowthe sliding swivel to rotate. The neat tapered rod stopshave discreet set screwfixings. And the rounded bolthas a small blind hole in thehead. Simply insert a smallhex key (like the one you usefor the small rod stop setscrews) to stop the swivelsturning while you tighten thelock nuts.
- WARNING! To use this linkagewith banjo fuel fittings (eg.Stromberg 9082K and 9083K),you must add our 9086K banjofitting spacers. Withoutthem, the banjo and its fuelhose will interfere with thelong primary (center) leverlinkage arm causing linkagebinding or sticking, whichcould result in uncontrolledengine speed, propertydamage, serious personalinjury or death.
