Weiand introduced the original swingarm style blower drives way back in the early 1960's and they rapidly became standard equipment for front engine dragsters, gassers and altereds. The drive was also featured in the 1970's cult classic Mad Max movie on Mel Gibson's Interceptor Coupe. Discontinued for years, this unit has become highly desirable and could only be found occasionally by scouring swap meets and e-Bay.
