XS Power 16V High Frequency Agm Intellicharger 15A Max Out (HF1615)
The HF Charger series is agroup of advanced batterychargers designed specificallyfor high performance 12V, 14Vor 16V sealed lead-acidbatteries. These chargerscombine the reliability of aHigh Frequency MOSFETrectified assembly with anadvanced microprocessorcontrol board to create abattery charger that canrapidly and safely recharge12V, 14V and 16V maintenancefree, deep cycle, gel-cell,and AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat)batteries in severalsizes.
ThreeStage Charging
At the heart of thetechnology in all HF Chargersis the three distinct chargingstages. During the firststage, called "Bulk" charging, the current is fixed and thevoltage is allowed to float.During this stage, 80% of thebattery's capacity isrestored. When the battery'scell voltage is up to thecorrect level, the secondstage called "Absorption"charging is engaged. Duringthis stage the voltage isfixed and the current isallowed to float. The batteryis brought to 100% during thisstage and the cells areequalized. The third stage is"Float" charging. During thisstage the voltage and currentare reduced to a level thatwill maintain the batteryindefinitely. Severalmicroprocessors are used totightly control the entireprocess. This is the sametechnique that batterymanufacturers recommend anduse in the production of newbatteries and it is thefastest and safest techniquefor batterycharging.
Compatible With Most Lead-acidBatteries IncludingAGM
Lead-acidbatteries have differentcharging requirements based ontheir specific design.Overcharging will reduce thelife of any battery as sealedvalve regulated batteries areespecially sensitive to highcharging voltages andovercharging. Overcharging anAGM or gel-cell battery willcause permanentdamage.
VoltageMonitoring
Thebattery's terminal voltage ismeasured every five minutes bythe on-board microprocessorsand this information isanalyzed in addition to theelapsed time to dynamicallycontrol the battery chargerfor optimum chargingperformance.
Automatic ComputerAnalysis/AutoShutdown
Themicroprocessors will analyzethe battery when connected. Ifthe battery's voltage is below4V the charger may notrecognize the battery isconnected and will not begincharging. Likewise, if thebattery will not come up tothe correct voltage in aten-hour period themicroprocessor control boardwill automatically shut thecharger off.
ULApproved BatteryCables
Six feetof durable battery cables areprovided that are resistant tocuts and abrasion. The copperplated battery clamps arecompact and custom designedeasy connections. All clampconnections are soldered formaximum currentflow.
InternalCooling Fan
Acooling fan automaticallyoperates during charging tokeep the circuit and otherinternal components at aconstant safe temperature.
